Set in the grounds of St Mary’s School, Calne, Summer Saxophones will explore and rehearse both large and small scale saxophone group repertoire.
The Course Director, Marie Lloyd, is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and an experienced teacher. Participants will enjoy a fun and inspirational environment in which to explore all aspects of saxophone playing.
The main premise of this course will be collaborative ensemble playing. The course will include opportunities for one to one lessons and masterclasses. Daily instrumental classes and the option of attending a nightly concert are also included.
Uniquely, there will be the opportunity to play parts of the Glazunov Saxophone Concerto with a resident string quartet.
Lessons and masterclasses will be taken by the course faculty. One to one lessons are also offered on all instruments of the saxophone family.
The course culminates in a relaxed performance, showcasing the weeks work.
Please note the course is for over 18’s.
Standard
The course caters for saxophonists of the standard Grade 6 to post diploma level. Participants may bring to the course one or any combination of instruments from the saxophone family.
Accommodation
The accommodation is set on St Mary’s School, Calne, complete with tennis courts, swimming pool, gym and excellent en-suite accommodation.
Fees
£790 – includes ensuite accommodation, all meals, morning and afternoon tea/coffee, coaching, classes and concerts.
£740 – includes shared bathroom accommodation, all meals, morning and afternoon tea/coffee, coaching, classes and concerts.
£630 – non residential rate includes lunch and dinner.
If booked before the 30th April the early bird rate of £765 applies for residential ensuite, £715 for residential shared bathroom and £605 for non residential.
